ASÍ hélt fund í Miðgarði þann 4. mars sl. um skipulagsmál sambandsins. Mættu þar fulltrúar stéttarfélaga á Norðurlandi. Markmið fundarins var að fá fram með skipulögðum hætti viðhorf og væntingar þátttakenda til uppbyggingar og skipulags verkalýðshreyfingarinnar. Þátttakendum var skipt upp í sjö hópa þar sem unnið var með eftirtaldar spurningar:
- Hlutverk ASÍ. Hvert á það að vera?
- Skipulag aðilar að kjarasamningum. Hvernig ætti það að vera?
- Skipulag ASÍ. Hvernig ætti það að vera?
- Jafnræði aðildarsamtaka innan stjórnskipulags ASÍ. Hvernig á það að vera?
- Jafnræði kynjanna innan stjórnskipulags ASÍ. Hvernig ætti það að vera og hvernig náum við því fram?
- Jafnræði höfuðborgar og landsbyggðar. Hvernig ætti það að vera?
- Staða ungs fólks innan ASÍ. Hver ætti hún að vera?
Í framhaldi af þessari fundarherferð verður unnið með þær hugmyndir sem koma fram á þessum fundum í skipulags- og starfsháttanefnd ASÍ, sem leggur þær í framhaldinu fyrir sameiginlegan fund formanna aðildarfélaganna. Á grundvelli niðurstöðu fundanna vinnur skipulags- og starfsháttanefnd svo tillögur að skipulagsbreytingum ef þörf er talin á. Miðstjórn mun svo fjalla um breytingartillögurnar og í framhaldi af því fer forysta sambandsins í kynningarferð með þær tillögur sem miðstjórn verður ásátt um að leggja fyrir ársfund ASÍ 2010.
